Sell My Timeshare

Presale Information Gathering Process

What Kind of Timeshare Do I Own? Deed, Points, Other?

Gather all the paperwork from when you purchased the timeshare

Research the current market prices for similar timeshares on your same property

When you want to sell your timeshare, you need to first know what you are selling.  It may have been awhile since you purchased it so the first thing you need to do is gather all the related paperwork you have and get answers to the following questions:

  • What is the specific name of the property where I own my timeshare?
  • What kind of timeshare do I have?  Deeded, Life Property Leased Property, Points Based?
  • Is my timeshare for a fixed week or a floating week?
  • What are the current tax obligations and annual maintenance fee?
  • Are there any restrictions in my legal papers that affect my ability to sell my timeshare?
  • What are current market prices?  Be sure you check ones that are the same week or within 1-3 weeks of yours (if fixed), same property, same size and same benefits.

A reputable timeshare resale broker or company should be able to provide you with more details on what information you need to gather up and can research market prices and other details. Whe one asks "How can I best sell my timeshare" these companies know exactly how to advise you.  Many services will also have a lot of information about your property already and will know exactly what is included in your timeshare.
